Fresha, Booksy and Treatwell run apps where people search for somewhere new nearby. You pay with a cut of each new client's first booking: 20% on Fresha, 30% on Booksy with Boost on, and 35% on Treatwell, before VAT.

You want a free, simple diary

Setmore's free plan covers up to four people with online booking and an email reminder. Texts, deposits and review requests need its Pro plan.

You want every call and message answered and booked

Which booking app has no commission?

Setmore and subba charge no commission on bookings. Fresha, Booksy and Treatwell charge a one-off fee on new clients who find you through their marketplaces: Fresha 20% (minimum £4), Booksy 30% (minimum £5, only with Boost on) and Treatwell 35%, before VAT. Returning clients are free on all three.

Is Fresha free?

No. As of 29 September 2026 Fresha's UK pricing page lists paid plans: £14.95 a month for one person, or £9.95 per team member, before VAT, with a 7-day trial.

Which of them has an AI receptionist in the UK?

subba (phone add-on from £29.99 a month, on top of a plan from £9.99), Fresha (AI Concierge, £79.95 per location a month, on top of a Fresha plan) and Treatwell (from £69 a month). Booksy lists an AI receptionist beta on its US site only, and Setmore's phone answering uses people, for US businesses only.

Can I use subba alongside Fresha, Booksy or Treatwell?

You can, but the diaries do not sync, so you would need to block out times in both. Most businesses run both for a few weeks while their booked-ahead appointments finish, then switch over.
